Biblical-Theological Perspective on Ecology To the LORD your God belongs the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it (Deut. 10:14) Humanity, today, faces one of the most difficult problems of its existence : environmental disaster of the world. Man is being challenged with the prospect of global warming, ozone depletion, deforestation, desertification, acid rain and global pollution.  The pollution of streams, rivers, lakes and oceans threatens our most valuable resources –water. Wet lands, beaches, valuable farmlands are disappearing as a result of the greed and ignorance of development. Our next most valuable resource – arable land, over 50% of it has been irrevocably lost due to destructive agricultural practices. Of the remaining land, 30% may be lost in the near future, due to continued erosion and poisoning by chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
